We could use public transportation like the transit (public buses), BART (Bay Area Railway Transit) and/or a vehicle. Now, here in the midwest, I only use my big, gas-guzzling Chevy Suburban.

In the winter I smile and wave at the foolhardy cyclists that I overtake while ensconced in a warm, heated vehicle.

I live 19 miles from work and even if I wanted to carpool with my co-workers, we rarely get off work at the same time, so it's impossible to carpool.
